The latest advances in the Plan to Promote the Audiovisual Sector are presented at the San Sebastián Festival.

The Plan has an integrating perspective, since it considers all sectors: cinema, series, shorts, advertising, video games, animation, e-sports, as well as the activities of creation, edition, production, distribution and auxiliary industries.

The goal is to increase the audiovisual production carried out in Spain by 30% by 2025.

To do this, they will act on 4 main axes:

  • To digitize, internationalize and attract investment to the audiovisual sector.
  • Improve financial and fiscal instruments.
  • Developing human capital, on the one hand, adapting training plans to the competencies demanded by the industry and, on the other, supporting the training that the companies themselves offer their workers.
  • Regulatory reforms and the elimination of administrative barriers. Among the reforms contemplated in the Plan are the General Law on Audiovisual Communication and the Cinema Law.

Carlos Rosado, president of the Spain Film Commission, has assured “The creation of the Spanish Audiovisual Hub is the most important strategic initiative ever adopted in the Spanish audiovisual sector that is going to transform the industry and place it at a first level of competitiveness.”
