APCP at the II Canary Islands Advertising Film Forum

By July 8, 2022 News No Comments

We return to the Canary Islands Advertising Film Forum, in its second edition. Thanks to our experience during these days, we can offer you information about the annual permit and environmental plan that they carry out in the Canary archipelago.

This includes more than 300 properties of the Cabildo of the Government of the Canary Islands, including some of the destinations we visited during the scouting, such as La Finda Osorio. We have also been able to discover natural spaces characteristic of the islands, such as: the Canarian Garden, the waters of Teror or Palacetes. The value of the fees will depend on the locations, as some have fixed rates while others work by the hour or even by the half-day.

From 4 to 7 July, we were able to explore two of the eight hearts that make up these islands, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean: Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

From the industry of Gran Canaria the following production companies attended: Alventio, Islas Producciones, Las Hormigas Negras, Lucky Islands, Macaronesia Films, Magnetic Film Creations, Seven Island Film and Volcano Films.

From the Tenerife industry we have the following production companies: Boudika Productions, El Hombre Invisible Films, La Creme Films, Locationow, Los Emotions, Solworks and Canary Productions.

We have also been accompanied by some of our partner production companies such as: Agosto, Antiestático, Bambina, La Joya, Landia, Only 925 and Garage Films. Together, we had the opportunity to discover new locations in which to shoot, as well as the necessary information to do so.

We also had the presence of a very special guest: Alejandro Falduti, Production Director of David The Agency, which won a total of 15 awards at the last edition of Cannes Lions.

THE APCP EXPERIENCE

The week begins when we land in Gran Canaria, the city that was our home for the first two days. This is how we started our trip, specifically at the Hotel Cristina, surrounded by sun and sea breeze.

It was here that we were able to give our first talk of the Forum, led by Adriana Piquet, director of the APCP. Under the title “Trends and perspectives in advertising film production”, the future of the industry was analysed. Later, an institutional reception was held, which ended with a welcome cocktail by the pool.On Tuesday 5th July, we woke up ready to recharge our batteries at the networking breakfast with our colleagues, organised by the local industry. This was the starting point for our Scouting FAM Trip, where we could enjoy the Finca de Osorio, the Maspalomas Dunes and the incredible views of the Doramas Rural Park. We ended this great day with the desire to rest, as the next morning we will have to catch a flight to the next island.Following the schedule, we landed in Tenerife, our last destination, at around 12 o’clock on Wednesday. We headed to the Hotel Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey, where at 18:30, Adriana Piquet gave the second and last talk of the trip. In this session we finished the day again with an institutional reception accompanied by the local industry. We were also able to enjoy our time together with the hostess, Concha Díaz from the Tenerife Film Commission, and Genoveva from Clauseter Audiovisual. We started on the 8th of July with another Tenerife industry networking breakfast, recharging our batteries before continuing on to the Scouting FAM Trip. We visited new destinations and got to know some of the most exotic and special places in Tenerife. We drove through Las Lagunetas and Pradera de Casa Don Leandro, also a straight road between eucalyptus and pine trees. Later that day we moved to the city of San Cristobal de La Laguna, where we explored the University of Fine Arts, the Tenerife Auditorium and the beach of Las Teresitas.
All this has been possible thanks to the organisation of the Clúster Audiovisual Canario, Proexca para Canarias and the Government of the Canary Islands. Not forgetting the collaboration of the Gran Canaria Film Commission, Tenerife Film Commission and APCP together with the sponsorship of Macaronesia Films.
