The journey of a group of friends from El Perelló that begins when they were around 18 and ends when they are around 30. On this long journey we travel back to a time when Valencia danced and shone. Does that sound interesting? We are talking about “La Ruta”, a series that tells the story of the chaos that young people lived in the long nights of the 90s. Those nights starring techno music. An era that, without a doubt, marked an entire generation.

Marc, Toni, Nuria, Sento and Lucas are the main characters in this story. These young people go from innocence to maturity throughout the most important years of the Bakalao Route. This series is available on Atresplayer Premium and consists of eight chapters (50 minutes each). Each one of them is titled after a name of the different nightclubs in Valencia at that time.

“La Ruta” has been very well received. Not only was it crowned at the tenth edition of the Feroz Awards, winning three awards (Best Drama Series; Best Script for a Series; Best Leading Actress). This series has also captivated viewers, who have filled the social networks with positive comments about the actors, characters, recreation of the nightclubs… Due to this reception by critics and viewers, in June 2023 it was renewed for a second season.

This film production undoubtedly appeals to the memory of many Valencians. They have been able to enjoy those nightclubs full of life and partying. Moreover, although most of the discotheques we see in “La Ruta” closed their doors years ago, two of them are still open: Barraca and Chocolate. This encourages viewers to go to those places that will take them back, for a few moments, to the past.

“La ruta”: a longing for those years in which Valencia was a protagonist. A time that many would like to live but that only a few will be able to remember.
