  • The Effectiveness Jury Club Awards now have a shortlist!

The finalists for the Effectiveness Jury Club Awards 2023 have been revealed for the following categories: Effectiveness Award for a Brand’s Advertising Career, Effectiveness Award for Professional Career, Effectiveness Award for CEO and Effectiveness Award Under 41, which will be awarded on Wednesday 20 September.

According to the event’s organisers, “the awards are the prelude to the Effectiveness Awards, organised by the Spanish Association of Advertisers (AEA), which will be held on 26 October at the Teatro Real in Madrid. The Club de Jurados de los Premios a la Eficacia is made up of more than 260 professionals who have been jurors in some of the editions of the awards, have announced the finalists of the Club de Jurados Eficacia 2023 Awards:” You can find all the nominees on their website.

  • The San Sebastian Festival stands out with its master classes.

The San Sebastian Festival, to be held from 22 to 30 September, will be organising a series of conferences and master classes at its 71st edition.

These, as explained by the event organisers, are part of the Thought and Debate areas and will “delve into the creative processes of filmmakers such as Raven Jackson, Lila Avilés, Albert Serra, Kitty Green and Christian Petzold. They will also address, among other issues, the strategies to be implemented to ensure an inclusive industry and the new technological challenges facing the film industry.

They emphasise that this space makes the Festival stand out “as a place for meeting, generating and transmitting knowledge, as well as questioning itself and trying to offer answers for the future in the face of a changing cinematographic panorama”.

 

  • The Immortal Awards unveil part of their jury!

On 7 September, the Immortal Awards closed for entries and the awards move on to the next stage: the deliberation of the jury.

This group of experts are, according to the awards, “world leaders from the brand, agency, production and post-production worlds”. In addition, “this year sees the introduction of five new local juries – France, Spain, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries and India – who will battle it out for the best work in their market. These juries join those already in place in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany”.

Among them are Justin Blyth (Executive Creative Director, Ambassadors), Sandra Bold (Creative Director, Wunderman Thompson Benelux), Yasmina Boustani, Creative Director (Leo Burnett Dubai), Guy Bradbury, Creative Partner (M&C Saatchi London), Richard Brim (Creative Director, adam&eveDDB), Catrióna Campbell (Managing Partner, The Public House) or Jordina Carbo (Executive Creative Director, VMLY&R Spain).   • It’s coming back! Book these days for the Festival Cine por Mujeres Madrid.

From 24 October to 5 November, Madrid will once again host the Festival Cine por Mujeres.

On this occasion, it will be back in style, with “a luxury programme in 19 cinemas in the city”. In addition, this 6th edition “will feature 70 multi-award-winning feature films, many of them absolute premieres in Spain and Madrid”.

The selection of films will be screened in 19 different venues in the centre, all of them highly prestigious. In addition to this, an important part of the programme will be available online at Filmin.
