On 3 – 6 July, the Association of Advertising Film Producers visited the Canary Islands, and more specifically the island of La Palma, for a scouting session on the occasion of the Advertising Film Forum, organised by the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster.

  • 3rd July:

During the first day of scouting on “the beautiful island” we stayed at the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo. This hotel is based on three principles: “history, personality and art”. A hacienda with gardens and an emblematic building that houses “a unique art collection, with authentic works brought from Flanders and Andalusia in the 17th century”. It was built by Don Jácome de Monteverde, following the landing of the Castilian conquerors and the establishment of the first settlements in the Aridane Valley, where the most fertile lands were to be found.

In addition, we visited the Fuencaliente salt flats and attended an institutional reception to welcome visitors to the area.

  • 4th July:

Tuesday morning was based on a tour of the Caños de Fuego Interpretation Centre and a meeting with local industry, while in the afternoon, APCP and the production companies that participated in the scouting went to the Tajogaite Volcano Viewpoint.

We also visited the village of Tazacorte, the Arcos de Tazacorte and went on a boat trip through Porís de Candelaria, Cueva Bonita and the new lava delta of the lava flows of the Tajogaite volcano. Here, not only the tropical landscapes of La Palma, but also its natural ecosystem with marine animals in its crystal clear waters could be appreciated.

  • 5 July:

This day we start by going up to the Roque de Los Muchachos, arriving at its Visitor Centre and observatory.

From this point onwards, we set off for Santa Cruz de La Palma, strolling around the area and then arrive at Los Tilos to enjoy its grandiose waterfall.

  • 6 July:

Before returning from scouting, the last day on the island was used to stop at the National Park of La Caldera de Taburiente: La Cumbrecita.

The Asociación de Productoras de Cine Publicitario would like to thank all the public institutions that have participated in the organisation of this scouting and the Clúster Audiovisual de Canarias.
