By November 3, 2023 News No Comments

In audiovisual production, there are names that stand out for their creativity, innovation and unique touch. This week we explore the fascinating world of Somos 5, a Madrid-based production company with undisputed talent. From television advertising and branded content to documentaries and music videos, Somos 5 has carved its path in the audiovisual industry. In this interview, we will delve into their work: what is behind their growth and recognition, their magic and the special way they have to connect brands with their audience.

In 2023, the production company has been recognized in prestigious advertising awards, either being nominated or being awarded, further consolidating its position in the audiovisual industry. We highlight achievements such as the gold award obtained with the campaign “Carre…. Carrefour. To be able to choose is to be able to save”, recognized in the Best Existing Product/Service Campaign category. In addition, they have passed the first round of the Little Black Book (LBB) Immortal Awards jury with their project “Unfear” for Samsung.

From APCP, we have seen your career, growth and progress in each project. How do you approach creativity and innovation in your projects to stand out in the advertising industry?

We work with the premise that every project we deliver is part of our personal portfolio. From that point on, any work becomes ours from the beginning and we work from that point of view. We join forces with the agency and the client to produce pieces that we are proud of. The way is made easy by the team we work with, with their talent and dedication, both those who are inside and those who join us in each project we take on. We do not seek to stand out, but that our work is the one that stands out, that is the goal.

What do you think is the key to establishing meaningful connections between the brand and the audience?

The key is definitely to make the audience feel something and connect with the product. When you remember a good ad or a funny video, even if it’s poorly shot, it’s mainly because it triggered something in you. That’s where meaningful connections come from: when what comes back to you goes beyond good craft.

To be making a mark in international awards like the Immortal Awards is a significant achievement. How do you handle the pressure and expectations in projects that have an international impact?

The reality is that we always work to win at Cannes, Efi, Lia, El Sol, Clio… some pieces win, some don’t. But the way we work is the same. But the way we work is the same, a lot of effort, dedication and love for what we do.

So far, which project do you consider to have been the most important or memorable?

We have a special affection for work that helps other people. Projects that contribute to change or improve their lives, as in the case of Unfear or those in which we collaborate with pieces to raise money for child cancer research.

We like to talk a lot about ambition, future… How is the future projection of Somos 5?

We are a team that finds it hard to talk about ambitions. We try to project the best of ourselves in each job and we firmly believe that this is always building for the future. Lately we are getting more international requests, which supports all that good work, and the truth is that we would like to continue to maintain that projection.

And finally, for those who aspire to follow in your footsteps in terms of creativity and innovation, what advice would you give them to stand out in the world of production?

We don’t really think we are an example of anything, but if we have to give advice it is that the way is hard work and surround yourself mainly with good and talented people, the rest will come.
