Something happens in Teruel

The fact that the province of Teruel is one of the least densely populated in Spain has its drawbacks, but also some advantages. Between Madrid and Barcelona, 14,000 square kilometers where you can still find silence, the infinite horizon.

In clean high skies, in panoramic roads with low vehicle density, in extensive moors or in large film friendly infrastructures… the province of Teruel is a powerhouse.

In Teruel you can shoot on an airport runway, on a MotoGP circuit, in an astronomical observatory, in a disused power plant and in 600 other film friendly locations, 90% of them with a 0 rate.

Alpine or Mediterranean forest; red rock, limestone or granite; urban medieval, Renaissance, 40’s or 80’s; textures of sand, rust, asphalt, aluminum. Many of these spaces have already been discovered by advertising cinema but a large number of them are still waiting to be shown.

The high involvement and openness of the institutions and society in general to the industry is another added value; quick permits, support of public services to filming or awareness of the tourism sector in the particular needs of the audiovisual industry. And all this, channeled from Teruel Film Commission to make things easy.

This public service, offered by the Provincial Council of Teruel, acts as a bridge between production companies and the territory so that the filming experience is as satisfactory as possible. It is staffed by audiovisual professionals who know perfectly the times, needs and difficulties of this work. From the first request for references until the end of the shooting, it will be the phone number to call at any time for any need in the territory.

The province hosts an average of 30 advertising and feature film shoots per year. In the advertising field, motor and fashion shootings are the most numerous with special incidence in arid+asphalt locations. From Teruel Film Commission we have worked on the opening of the 6-7 most demanded locations to have a very fast management, but we have a wide catalog of references of this theme with still unknown spaces that may be the main location of your next spot.
