  • The c of c podcast, “Today is not tomorrow”, talks about the end of generations.

You can now listen to the new episode of the Creative Club podcast, the theme of which is “The end of generations”.

It deals with three different topics, “Age as a determinant of the person in society”, “Debunking the myths of ageism from the consumer” and “New market opportunities in an ageing world”. On this subject, they point out that “Age also determines some of our behaviours and actions and, therefore, affects our consumption: access to vote, to alcohol and tobacco, to drive, to travel independently, the right to receive a pension or to retire…”.

  • You can now listen to the new Young Director Awards podcast.

Oscar-nominated director Bradford Young talks with Radha Ganti and Robert Lopuski on the Young Director Awards podcast. During the podcast, you can hear “intimate conversations between new and established directors as they share their thoughts on the craft of filmmaking, the business of creating short-form content, and overcoming the obstacles facing new talent”.

Alongside them, he “discusses the need for a creative community, the cosmological ingredients of great cinema and the unexpected potential for creative freedom found in commercial advertising”.

  • The AICP Base Camp is just around the corner!

The first part of AICP Week, called AICP Base Camp, kicks off on 6 June. It will feature a programme that “will include practical business and legal advice, industry reports, panels dedicated to creative inspiration and an in-depth analysis of the potential uses and risks of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advertising”.

  • Sitges Next: what are the new contributions to AI in creativity, content and neuromarketing?

From 7 to 8 June, Sitges Next will be incorporating new professionals, who will be joining the aforementioned. They will be Pablo Muñoz, Ramon Castillo and Pablo Filomeno. During the Festival, each will contribute their point of view based on their professional experience.

They join the already confirmed Enric Soldevila, Ana Luna, Natalia Mirapeix, Joakim Borgström, Marta Luciano, Ferran López, Beatriz Martín Valcárcel and Anna Roca. Over the next few weeks, new names will be added to the line-up.

  • The Sun announces its content programme.

El Sol shines brighter than ever at the 37th edition of the Ibero-American Advertising Communication Festival with a full programme of conferences and screenings. Malaga is getting ready to welcome the most awaited advertising event of the year: El Sol, which in this very special edition, promises to be a real stage of creativity and inspiration, “Algo Tendrá” so that no one will want to miss it! “Something Will Have”, a unique and incomparable experience, brilliant ideas that will not leave you indifferent. That is precisely what awaits us at El Sol. From the 8th to the 9th of June, Malaga will become the epicentre of advertising creativity. Agencies will gather to share their best work, discuss the latest trends and celebrate the magic behind each campaign.

El Sol is the perfect showcase for those who want to stand out in the advertising industry. It’s the place where innovation meets talent, where the most creative minds come together to dazzle attendees. And remember, “Something Will Have” will win you over. The festival kicks off on Thursday 8 June at 10am at the Albéniz Cinemas, with the screening of the best campaigns from a selection of Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia. The Cannes Lions Quiniela will also have a special place in the screenings.

At 16:30h, Freepik, a Spanish image bank, will provoke an open debate on how agencies and brands can face and take advantage of the impact of AI on creativity and advertising communication. Its title, From briefing to prompt: new ways of advertising. The first conference of El Sol will feature Paco Morales, renowned chef, Cocinero de la Historia, who will share the Creative Process at Noor Restaurant. Noor, light in Arabic, reflects the grandeur of Al-Andalus. Noor is much more than a restaurant, it is a cultural project. Laura Ferrero, writer, journalist and scriptwriter continues the programme with a conference entitled “My experiments with truth”. On 30 March her novel, Los astronautas, was published, a process that took four years, based on the phrase “I want to know the truth”.

On Friday 9 June at the Albéniz Cinemas, the Film shortlist will be published at 10am. Following on from the Clio Awards reel, Nick Coronges, Global Chief Technology Officer, R/GA will give his talk on “Generative AI Beyond Imitation”. It is no longer about automation and replication. AI in its next phase will go in new directions, a glimpse of what is to come. Santiago Bustamante, Cultural Director of the OXO Museum of Video Games in Malaga and Cultural Journalist at Radio 3, will give a conference entitled “The cultural conquest of video games”, the “silent revolution” of video games that have conquered cultural spaces previously denied to them, how have video games conquered these spaces, how has a video game museum conquered the heart of the so-called “city of museums”, and how has a video game museum conquered the heart of the so-called “city of museums”?

The awaited awards ceremony, where the best of the industry will receive the recognition they deserve, will take place at 18:30h at the Teatro Cervantes, the first stage space on the Costa del Sol. To close this special edition of El Sol, a party will be held at Los Baños del Carmen. The 37th edition of the El Sol festival is very close and we already tell you that “Something Will Have”.

  • In one month Cannes Lions returns.

As announced by the organisers, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity returns to The Palais in Cannes from Monday 19 to Friday 23 June 2023. The event will continue to focus on creativity and the advertising industry during its 70th edition.
