  • ”Farrucas’ wins Gaudí Awards to the best short film

We couldn’t be happier congratulating our production company Primo and the whole team that made Ian de la Rosa’s “Farrucas” win the Gaudí award for best short film.

Farrucas is a production of Primo, Vayolet Films, and Amplitud, directed by Ian de la Rosa.
This short film is the second project of PRIMO’s fiction and documentary department, led by Inés Massa.

It is supported by the ICAA (Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales) and with the participation of Movistar+. Distributed by Marvin & Wayne.

The short film from Almería, shot in 2020, tells the story of Hadoum, Fátima, Sheima and Sokayna, four teenagers from El Puche, a suburb of Almería, proud of their Moroccan and Spanish roots. Together they face their first experiences in schools outside the neighbourhood which, although they make the shortcomings of their environment evident, do not manage to diminish the intensity of their desires and yearnings. On Fatima’s eighteenth birthday, the strength of their self-confidence will be put to the test.

Ian de la Rosa was the first director to decide to shoot in El Puche, a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Almería that lacks basic infrastructures such as cleaning services or public transport. From among his teenagers, he chose four girls with no acting skills to star in his story.

  • “Castillos de Arena” from Harold Entertainment nominated as best music video

The music video produced by Harold Entertainment “Castillos de arena” for Pablo Alborán has been nominated for Best Music Video in the 7th edition of the Latin American Music Awards 2022 and we are extremely happy for our production company, congratulations!

You can vote on Twitter using the hastags #VideoFavorito and #LatinAMAs.

The 2022 “Latin AMAs” nominees are based on key fan interactions with the music. In the case of the Favourite Video nominees, they were selected by a committee of industry professionals who consider quality, content, creativity and fan engagement.

The gala will take place on Thursday April 21st and we will know the winners, good luck!

Pablo Alborán’s “Castillos de Arena” was a work by Harold for WARNER MUSIC SPAIN. The video was directed by Dan Barreri, with Guto Moura as director of photography and Lucia Lence as art director.

The idea was to accompany the playback with a beautiful story that was a metaphor for what the lyrics of Alborán’s song conveyed.

Barreri presents us with a desolate world, where any trace of life seems impossible. An astronaut, back in the world he abandoned long ago, manages, thanks to the help of a child, to be able to breathe again.

A narrative and aesthetic exercise that has resulted in a very well rounded music video that has reached 1 million views in just 6 days and quickly reached #10 on YouTube’s Video Trends, today it has already surpassed 4 million views.

The singer said of Dan Barreri, “It’s one of the coolest videos I’ve ever made! Full of symbolism, metaphors and positivity in a world where love and empathy seem to be dying out. Thank you, Dan”.

  • Cinco lobitos at the Malaga Film Festival

The first film written and directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Igloo’s founding partner and director, will compete in Malaga after having premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.

After its screening at the Berlinale, the film will be in movie theatres on May 20th.

Amaia has just become a mother and realises that she doesn’t quite know how to be one. When her partner is away on business for a few weeks, she decides to return to her parents’ house, located in a beautiful coastal village in the Basque Country, to share the responsibility of looking after her baby. What Amaia does not know is that, although she is now a mother, she will not stop being a daughter.

From APCP we wish Alauda and the whole team the best of luck and success with this beautiful project.
