There’s nothing left to meet again in Malaga! On Tuesday 25th all tickets went on sale simultaneously, including the opening and closing galas, for the 24th edition of the Malaga Film Festival.

The APCP will be present and will be part of this great film event once again. The festival will start on the 3rd of June and will last until the 13th of June; within it, on the 8th and 9th, we will celebrate our III Commercial Film Production Worksphop in Malaga.

This year’s Malaga Festival is once again presented in a format adapted to the circumstances and restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with a spectacular selection of honorees, with an Official Selection that reflects the current state of Spanish-language filmmaking, combining experience and young talent, and with a firm commitment to the usefulness of the Spanish and Latin American audiovisual industry.

The press conference was held on 24th May at the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga.

Juan Antonio Vigar, director of the festival, explained the decision to postpone the 2021 date to June, instead of March, the month in which it is usually held: “Delaying the festival has allowed us to achieve a high level of participation, a total of 2,321 audiovisuals from 70 countries, which demonstrates the important international positioning of the festival, with a set of titles that respond perfectly to the snapshot of Spanish cinema in recent months”.

On 25th May, the Official Selection was presented with 23 films, four of them out of competition.

Of the 2,321 films entered, 715 were directed by women, which represents 30.8% of the total; while of those selected, the number was 65, 36% of the total, exceeding the average number of films entered directed by women by almost 5%. In addition, 77 films were produced by women, 42.5% of those selected.

From 25th May you can buy your tickets on the festival website and at www.unientradas.es

The opening gala will be presented by the actresses Silvia Abril and Toni Acosta, while the popular actor, director and producer Santiago Segura will be at the significant part of the closing gala.
