The year is coming to an end and the events don’t end… We tell you that we went to the afterwork organized by Madrid Film Office, that the Best Branded Content of the Year Awards have arrived, that the shortlist of The Immortal Awards is here, that 6 Spaniards are part of the jury of The One Show and that our friend Iván Franco from Zissou is part of the content jury of the National Creativity Awards.

      1. We went to afterwork with Madrid Film Office!

On Wednesday, December 13, we went to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas holidays at the Railway Museum of Madrid, a very special place, where we learned that recently the emotional spot of the Kisses – 100 years of Telefónica was filmed. Also, we were able to listen to some magnificent words from Héctor Coronel, director of Tourism of the Madrid City Council and Raúl Torquemada, director of Madrid Film Office.

We shared laughs with our friends from the Madrid audiovisual sector and enjoyed a good time with them. It was Madrid Film Office who was in charge of organizing this meeting, thank you very much!

     2. The Branded Content of the Year Awards 2023 are here!

Once again, BCMA Spain wants to recognize the work of professionals dedicated to Branded Content. In this edition, a total of 13 awards will be presented, divided into different categories.

These are the main categories:

  • Best Branded Content Strategy of the Year
  • Best Original Branded Content Idea of the Year
  • Best Audiovisual Branded Content of the Year
  • Best Editorial Branded Content of the Year
  • Best Sound Branded Content of the Year
  • Best Experiential Branded Content of the Year
  • Best Interactive Digital Branded Content of the Year
  • Best Use of Media in Branded Content of the year

It should be noted that the jury will award only one prize for each category. In addition, from among the winning projects in these categories, we will know the Grand Prize for the Best Branded Content of 2023.

There will also be three special categories:

  • Special Mention for Best Branded Content with Purpose.
  • Special Mention for Best Collaborative Ecosystem in Branded Content
  • Special Mention for Best Hispanic American Branded Content. This category is open exclusively to Branded Content projects created in Latin America.

Registration dates: you can register your case until February 1, 2024.

     3. The Immortal Awards Shortlist 2023

Judging for the Immortal Awards 2023 concludes this week, as the global jury meets in New York City to decide which or if any of the shortlist finalists should be considered Immortal. Outstanding campaigns, but which are not considered immortal, have the possibility of receiving a Commendation.

The shortlist is comprised of 32 pieces of work from around the world that have already made it through the local and regional rounds of judging, which you can read more about here.

The global jury includes: David Lubars, executive creative director, BBDO Worldwide; Harjot Singh, global director of strategy, McCann and McCann Worldgroup; Susan Credle, global creative director, FCB Global; Neil Heymann, global creative director, Accenture Song; Nic Taylor, senior vice president and head of LEGO Agency, the LEGO Group; Natalie Lam, regional creative director, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Publicis Groupe; Joel Simon, executive creative director/CEO, JSM Music; Alexis Ospina, executive creative director, Grey Mexico; Tania Sethi, production director, Hogarth Worldwide.

     4. Spain in The One Show 2024 jury

The One Show is the world’s most prestigious awards ceremony for advertising and design. For more than 50 years, the Golden Pencil has been considered one of the most important awards in the creative industry. It has a rich legacy of honoring some of the most innovative ideas, created by some of the most remarkable minds in creativity.

The One Show 2024 jury this year has 27 creative leaders from Ibero-America on its global panel. The full jury will be made up of more than 250 creative leaders from 44 countries, with specialists in various disciplines. This year, the competition features jury presidents for each discipline and, for the first time, members of The One Club’s Board of Directors will be present during the deliberations as non-voting facilitators.

The 6 Spanish experts who will be part of the jury are:

  • Munia Bilbao, Creative Director at Sra Rushmore in Madrid, specializes in Radio & Audio.
  • Pancho Cassis, Global CCO and Partner at DAVID in Madrid, will chair the Out of Home/Print & Promotional jury.
  • Cova Diaz, Executive Creative Director at Dentsu Creative in Madrid, will bring her experience in Direct Marketing.
  • Natxo Diaz, Global Head of Craft at VML Health, based in Madrid, will focus on Health & Wellness/Pharma.
  • Azahara Ramos, Director of Audiovisual Production at DDB Group, based in Madrid, will focus on Music & Sound Craft.
  • Maria Rufilanchas, Creative Director at teta & teta and Molaría in Madrid, will participate in Sustainable Development Goals Pencil.

Registration deadlines for The One Show 2024 are now open:

  • Early: December 15, 2023
  • Regular: January 26, 2024
  • Extended: February 16, 2024
  • Final: March 1, 2024

The evaluation process, which will take place virtually and in person between January and March 2024, will culminate with the presentation of finalists in April and the winners will be revealed during Creative Week in New York, May 13-17, 2024. Winners will be included in The One Club’s global creative rankings, which combine points from awards in various international competitions, and will contribute to the support of programs under the pillars of Education, Inclusion and Diversity, Gender Equality and Creative Development in the industry, promoted by the non-profit organization.

     5. Ivan Franco of Zissou on the content jury of the National Creativity Awards!

The c de c is announcing the juries for the different categories of the National Creativity Awards 2024. Iván Franco Hidalgo, producer of Zissou, is part of this section. These are all the professionals who are part of the CONTENT jury:

  • Ángela Cadiñanos, executive creative director at Pingüino Torreblanca.
  • David Vijil, creative director at Proximity Madrid.
  • Elena Hernández, independent creative director.
  • Iván Franco Hidalgo, producer at Zissou.
  • Mar Abad, co-founder and editorial director at El Extraordinario.
  • Mar Arrieta, creative director at Rosebud.
  • Purificación González, CMO Movistar Plus+.

As we told you last week, the CONTENT section has undergone changes this edition. The categories have been renewed, reflecting the current needs of the campaigns: audiovisual, sound, editorial, experiential and interactive digital.

The winning pieces will be announced during the gala to be held in San Sebastian on April 13, 2024.
