  1. How the Best!N Food 2022 gala went

The XXI edition of the Best!N Food Awards was held on 6 April at the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower Hotel. Casa Tarradellas, Hijos de Rivera, Supperstudio, Leo Burnett and Rafael de Juan, CEO of Vicky Foods, were the winners of the special awards.

A total of 53 awards were presented at a ceremony.

The Best!N Food awards are the only food marketing prizes awarded in Spain and are organised annually by IPMARK and DARetail magazines and Best Awards, with the Alimentaria trade fair. On this occasion, the jury, made up of 30 professionals from leading brands and agencies, has drawn up a list of 16 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals, selected from a shortlist of 201 pieces.

At the awards gala, the 53 metals were awarded in 13 categories: Best Branding, Best Brand Experience, Best Branded Content, Best Digital, Best Film, Best Graphics, Best Integrated, Best PR, Best Shopper Marketing, Best Media, Best Sustainability, Corporate Identity and Best CEO.

In the run-up to the awards gala on April 5th, the second edition of the Best!N Food Marketing Summit was held for marketing industry experts from the food, beverage and food service segments. This meeting is organised within the framework of the Alimentaria trade fair, also a member organiser of Best!N Food, which took place from April 4th to 7th at the Fira de Barcelona.

From April 4th to May 31st, the registration period for the 2022 Effectiveness Awards organised by the Spanish Association of Advertisers (aea) and with the strategic consultancy of SCOPEN is open.

This year’s awards are presented with new features both in the categories, to adapt them to new market trends, and in the awards, the result of a thorough review carried out after a series of surveys among the members of the Jury Club and the contribution of the Association of Strategic Planners (APG) as a collaborating organisation. The new categories are:

  • Brand Building
  • Best Integrated Campaign
  • Most Original and Disruptive Strategy
  • Best Brand/Product/Service Launch Campaign
  • Best Existing Product/Service Campaign
  • Best Tactical Action ∙ Best Regional/Local Campaign
  • Community and Audience Building
  • Best Branded Content Action
  • Best Campaign Budget Less than 250.000€ (tactical or product/service campaigns)

In addition, among all the cases presented, a Special Recognition for Research will be awarded. The Jury may also award 2 Special Acknowledgements if it deems it appropriate. Changes have also been made to the criteria for the Agency of the Year award, whether it be Media or Creative. The aim is to make it a more open award. For this reason, two types of agencies are established, leaders and collaborators. In each case, two leading agencies can be included; these will receive the full score of the winning cases, while the collaborating agencies will receive half of the score. In order to be eligible for Agency of the Year, at least one case must be on the list.

In addition, the Effectiveness Awards Jury Club will add the CEO Effectiveness Award to its awards.

The date of the awards gala will be October 27th and will be held at the Teatro Real

3. See the program of the XIX C-Day

The aim of the XIX C Day is to celebrate creativity, the most powerful tool of transformation of the human being, and that creatives and the entire industry possess and exercise every day, to be held in San Sebastian, on May 20 and 21 next.

Two days to put in value and return the pride reminding the entire profession and society in general, that powerful skill that not only appears in the card charge of every creative, but is part of its DNA, and that is, at the same time, a transforming superpower.

The motto of this new C-Day is explicit: To be able to create: the best job in the world; a motto that will serve as the axis for two days of inspiration, learning, debate and experience about the miracle of creating. There will also be space for networking as the meeting, the largest of the marketing and communication industry to be held in Spain, will once again be completely face-to-face, as it was before the pandemic.

Organized by the c de c and co-organized by Meta, this edition will address the power of creation from different perspectives and from the hand of about twenty speakers who will talk about being able to create stories, to create without censorship, to create awareness, to create visual art, to create in freedom, to create reality and even, also, to create evil.

Earlier this year TorinoFilmLab and Trentino Film Commission, in collaboration with EAVE, launched Green Film Lab, a training programme for European film professionals who want to commit to sustainable practices in their productions.

Green Film Lab holds three three-day workshops held in different European countries and aimed at production teams developing a fiction or documentary feature film who are willing to make their filming more sustainable.

The training is based on the Green Film Rating System and its two main features: the sustainability plan and the certification process for audiovisual projects. Each workshop is open to 24 participants selected to work in groups under the guidance of green managers with extensive experience in the film industry. The contents and structure are similar in all three cases.

The first workshop will take place from April 29th to May the 1st in the Italian city of Trento. The other two will be held in Palma de Mallorca from July 29th to 31st, thanks to the collaboration of the Mallorca Film Commission, Fundació Mallorca Turisme and the Consell Insular de Mallorca. Applications to participate in this workshop can be submitted until June 3rd here.

And the last workshop, proposing the same contents and structure, will be held in Sitges, Barcelona, from October 14th to 16th, in collaboration with the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises, the Catalunya Film Commission and the Servei de Desenvolupament Empresarial.
