On April 27th saw the start of the Film Shooting and Film Tourism Conference organised by the Costa Blanca Film Commission.
From the APCP we were proud to be part of the first session, providing our perspectives, demands and vision of the work of a Film Commission/Office for an advertising film producer; in a theoretical way and with practical cases through some examples of shoots, illustrating all the work behind each project.
We shared the session with Emilio J. Alhambra (Production and coordination of MEDIAPRO SERVICES projects) in his presentation “What is a Film Office?” and with Carlos J. Navas (Professor of Audiovisual Communication UMH), who gave us “Introduction to Audiovisual Production”.
Adriana Piquet, General Director of the APCP, took the floor in the presentation “Practical cases of audiovisual production”.
She explained what the APCP is, and what our quality seal verified by AENOR consists of, which differentiates our production companies from the rest. Through the APCP Guarantee, advertisers and agencies can count on production companies that work to offer the best quality service and comply with the legal requirements that we unanimously established in 2014.
They were also detailed:
- Perspectives, demands and vision of the work of a Film Commission / Office for an advertising film producer.
- Functions and knowledge of the Film Office that the producer is looking for.
- Technical needs of a production.
- The service production of the advertisement “Harris and the robots” for the United States with the Sky agency, shot in Barcelona through the Twentyfour Seven production company, was shown as a case study.
Continuing with the case studies, Alba Barneda, Head of Production of CANADA and member of the Board of Directors of the APCP took the floor.
From the hand of Alba, we were able to learn details about the processes that a shoot requires and that are not perceived in the final video: how to find a location, request permission to cut the streets, bring in international artists, casting processes, etc. All of this was exemplified through four works:
- Videoclip of “Malamente” and “Pienso en tu mirá” by Rosalía.
- Spot for Cupra with the English actress Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) shot in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands with the pandemic movility restrictions.
- Videoclip “Physical” by Dua Lipa shot at La Fira de Barcelona.
The objective of these conferences is to provide knowledge and tools to the technicians of the province of Alicante so that they attract, facilitate and make profitable the work of companies and professionals in the audiovisual sector in their filming (film, television or advertising); as well as establishing exchange dynamics between the different actors in the tourism and audiovisual sector, sharing experiences and success stories to learn through them, and facilitating the tasks of locating and obtaining permits; in other aspects.
At the APCP we believe that training and communication between the different agents of the industry is essential for the development and growth of all. For this reason, we thank the Costa Blanca Film Commission for this initiative and for counting on us to create tools for learning, improvement and connection.
