The 54th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Cataluña, which began on October 7th, has reached its Equator. It is a memorable festival, full of awards for talent and cinematographic effort.
Oxígeno de Curial & Tirant, one of our associated production companies has attended this festival, their short film “Night Breakers”, has been selected in the official section of Sitges.

The production company Lee Films has also participated in the festival with the short film: “La Inquilina” a fiction project that won a special mention at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal.

An International Jury has awarded during these days prizes to fantasy-themed feature films, of all nationalities, produced in 2020/2021, aiming at quality and trend-setting.
Some of the most remarkable awards so far have been: to Belén Rueda with the Grand Honorary Award for the mysterious lamb in the arms of Noomi Rapace in the celebrated Lamb, the very excited actress assures: “Sitges is very special, you can breathe cinema and enthusiasm”. Another award that was much talked about in the media was for Japanese director Mamoru Hosada, who received the Festival’s Honorary Award for his animated film “Belle”.
