On March 15th at 9:45 am, Juan Antonio Vigar, director of the film festival, inaugurated the 5th edition of the APCP Advertising Film Production Activities at the Teatro Echegaray where there was a full capacity, exceeding the attendance of previous editions.
During his speech, he was accompanied by Belén Carrasco (coordinator of the Málaga Film Office), who presented the shooting data of the Málaga Film Office. Juan Antonio Vigar spoke about the importance of young people in the sector, as well as highlighting the importance of the Film Office, which collaborates in the creation of industrial fabric and specialized technical work in excellence (something that is in high demand) with the reactivation after the pandemic.
Regarding the companies that are participating, he invited them to feel at home and to create a space for dialogue and finding solutions to the problems of this sector. In addition, he wished success to the El Sol Festival, which will also take place in Málaga. He also highlighted the work of the Malaga Film Office in facilitating the work of production companies. Belén Carrasco, for her part, explained that of the 257 productions carried out in Malaga capital in 2022, approximately 14 million euros have been invested.
Advertising productions, which normally account for half of this budget, last year accounted for 14%, with advertising spots being the ones that invested the most with 1,200,000 euros. After the talk a video was screened showing a walk around Málaga for different productions throughout all these years of APCP.
