This Thursday Oriol Uria of Infinito Studios and The Garage Films was a speaker as part of “Production: the art of making a film”, a series of talks organised by the Aula de Cine Collection Josep M. Queraltó Foundation.

Uria, who has previously stood out in the industry for his career as a producer of advertising films, is now also dedicated to his line of business in feature films.

Under the title “You’re my f**king competitors”, he spoke from 19:30 to 20:30 about “the primary idea and where it comes from”, as well as going deeper into its development. He also explained the differences between advertising and fiction”, and dazzled us with the idea that “value is the sum of knowledge plus skill multiplied by attitude”.

During his talk he declared that “the good attitude is that there are no problems, if not circumstances to solve”, and he explained how to choose a showrunner and select a good main technical team. He also addressed the world of locations and the artistic team.

His last key points were dedicated to the new platforms, which Oriol defines as a single structure, bringing together all the old components of the channel: creation, production, distribution, sales and broadcasting. But the end of the talk focused on how the consumer has all the content at their fingertips at a single click.

The event took place at the Institut de Formació Contínua – IL3 of the University of Barcelona, where they also counted with the participation of Sol Carnicero and his talk “Production management: unknown or ignored?. Julián Galindo gave a presentation on “The tax incentive in an audiovisual project: What is it and how is it used? And the speaker who preceded Oriol was Rafael Lambea, who spoke about “Financing systems: CREAR SGR”. This conference has been made possible thanks to the Josep M. Queraltó Film Collection Foundation, which has finally been able to resume its face-to-face activities in 2022.
