The main participation period for the Young Director Award 2021 has been extended until the 18th May. That meansyou’ve still got two days to avoid late fees!
Today we want to tell you a bit of history about this unique event.
The purpose of this awards gala is to discover and promote the talent of young directors from all over the world. Its origin was born more than 20 years ago thanks to the association CFP-E (Commercial Film Producers of Europe), of which the APCP is an active member.
The CFP-E (Commercial Film Producers of Europe), whose goal is to promote the added value that production companies bring to agencies and advertisers, and to safeguard the future of production companies, along with its then President and henceforth Honorary Chairman François Chilot, inspired and created the Young Director Award some 22 years ago.
The uniqueness of the Young Director Award has led it to become a pioneer in paving the way for new directors. YDA is a space that offers remarkable opportunities for young people to create and showcase their talent.
François Chilot and the CFP-E are acknowledged for making the Young Director Award (YDA) the only non profit organization in the world to exclusively support and promote debuting, international creative talent in commercial film production, and the only award exclusively-dedicated to up-and-coming, young filmmakers.
By maximising global media coverage and raising awareness among the various stakeholders and professionals in the sector, YDA emphasises that one of the most essential roles of producers is to discover, nurture and promote directors.
From the APCP we encourage all the young talents who read us and receive our news to participate in the YDA and let the world know about your talent!
