During the first months of this year BLUA is working on the renovation of the visual image of the Galician artist Baiuca, together with Raso Estudio, the label that manages the artist, and Embruxo Producións. From traditional folklore references, we worked on the idea of a hi-tech presentation mixing instruments with laser lighting. This gave rise to the idea of the first video clip, PAEQB -initials of Por Amar E Querer Ben-, directed by Jordi Cussó. The photography of Miquel Prohens and the lighting of the Catalan studio Oscila achieved these iconic images that the artist will use in his visuals from the next concerts.
In the second work, entitled Alentejo, which has just been released this Wednesday, they repeat with Jordi Cussó and with creative direction of the Galician artist Adrián Canoura, part of the Baiuca team since the beginning. In this case, a study was made of the traditional Entroidos (carnivals) of Galicia and northern Portugal. The selection of ten characters includes unusual figures in the portrayal of the Galician carnival, visually treated with strobes and effects.
These singles will be part of Baiuca’s next album, which will feature one last collaboration between the artist and the production company. In PAEQB the traditional instruments were represented, in Alentejo the characters of the entroidos, and for the next shoot a Foliada – a party where traditional Galician music is sung and played – will be represented, but with an electronic character. It will be shot in early April in Catoira (Pontevedra).
