18 years after its foundation, the company expands its horizons with its first branch office in Europe.
The post-production house “Óxido” celebrates 18 years of existence with the launch of its first office outside Mexico, which was inaugurated in February by its General Director, Marco Rodríguez, and the renowned colorist of Spanish origin Raúl Lavado (“La Espera”, “The Vast of Night”, “La última” a Disney Original series, etc). In its first stage, the office will offer Color Correction services for Film, TV and Advertising. The facility is located at Santa Inés 6, Centro, Madrid.
“Óxido” throughout its trajectory has worked with major brands worldwide, such as L’Oreal, PepsiCo, Bimbo, etc., and in this stage of content we work with all platforms in the international market, having experience in the different workflows and especially in the deliverables that are very different between each of them.
This step represents the international consolidation of the Mexican company based in Mexico City, where it also offers the services of DIT (Data Manager), rental of Editing and Design Rooms and Sound Mixing with its Dolby Atmos certified room.
“Like Mexico, Spain has become an epicenter of audiovisual production that is also in constant growth and maintains an important interaction with the industry in Mexico, so it represents the ideal place and time to begin our expansion,” says Marco Rodriguez.
The director and founder of “Óxido” continues: “As a result of the pandemic we realized that the post-production process did not require the physical presence of people in the rooms, so we designed an interconnectivity of the two Mexico-Madrid offices by broadband that will allow us to offer the color correction service with a room in Spain but that can be controlled from Mexico,” added the executive, who is already in the Spanish capital for the opening of the branch office.
Since its launch, “Óxido Madrid” has available the Color Correction service with Baselight software. “The interactivity will allow our post team to be involved in the projects in Spain even though we are not physically here. We are also looking for an exchange of residence of our colorists to mix cultures and color visions that will enrich us in both directions,” adds Rodriguez.
Finally, the executive shares his enthusiasm for this new adventure, because it started with the right foot since a couple of months ago they began to receive their first Spanish projects and a large international project “Taking this step towards the consolidation of the Oxide brand as a global company in the year we celebrate 18 years as a company, is something we are very excited about. This expansion has as many risks as advantages, but we believe that we have nothing to lose and much to gain, because we have always been known for being at the forefront of technology so that our customers have the latest generation equipment for their projects. And now this is available to the Spanish industry, which we hope will receive us very well,” concludes Rodríguez.
