We were looking forward to work in this enigmatic location: commercial films can now have access to the Real Alcázar of Seville, a place with so much history and so desired by filmmakers from all over the world.
An average reduction of 50% has been established in the rates for commercial shoots and advertising photo advertising and film shoots inside the monument. These conditions are in addition to those introduced last year, which were based on the premise that the fee for use of the public domain, if the City Council cooperated, was reduced by less than half and could be as low as zero.
In the shooting of films, series and commercials, this free rate applies to productions that meet the following conditions.
- That a significant part of the filming takes place in Seville and that the city is positively promoted abroad for its cultural, heritage, ethnological or tourist values.
- The filming crew must be housed or reside mainly in the city, for which purpose the volume of contracting for the production will be decisive. “The application of this zero rate will require the municipal body or organisation responsible for the promotion of the city to submit a justified request to the Urban Planning Department, which will decide what is legally appropriate, without the request being binding”.
- The third condition is when filming does not take place on the public highway, so that the occupation of the public highway is limited to the installation of auxiliary elements, such as vehicles or mobile units. In the service of this production (carried out indoors), the rate to be applied will be reduced to 50%.
