During the days between the 3rd and 11th of July, the L’Alfàs del Pi Film Festival took place, and the APCP production companies were also present.
With 33 editions behind it, this small town in Alicante, which refers to the name of the festival, can now boast of being one of the film industry’s favourite meeting points. From the big events such as San Sebastian, Seville, Sitges or Malaga, it has nothing to do with the more discreet events, which build their own identity by focusing on the individual and his or her worth, the talent.
The magic of this festival, whose greatness lies in the word-of-mouth recommendations it wins every year, lies in its proximity, in the human quality that floats in its atmosphere. And for this, a large part of the blame lies with its organisation and its guardianship, so that however much this event grows, and it will grow, it will never lose the spirit that defines the festival: familiarity.
As in previous years, the L’Alfàs del Pi Film Festival also awards the best short film directed by women with an award designed by Amparo Boluda, which is given in collaboration with the associations Huellas Borradas de Mujer and CIMA.
The aim of this award is to give visibility to the work of women creators in the world of cinema. This year it went to the piece “Imposible decirte adiós” (Impossible to say goodbye) by Yolanda Centeno, from the production company Harry.
At the APCP we are very proud to have such great professionals, and we celebrate this well-deserved award not as a reward but as a sign that female talent is of immeasurable value.
