At the APCP we are convinced of the need to incorporate sustainability criteria in audiovisual productions. A universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve people’s lives.
To this end, we must work on the development of materials and tools that promote and facilitate environmentally, socially and economically sustainable practices in the different phases and departments involved in the production of an audiovisual work.
Together, we must ensure that these activities are carried out under the premises of quality, health protection and respect for the environment, ensuring, in short, a sustainable development with great added value for society as a whole.
While we make progress on this, in this section of our website you will find various resources of interest developed by different entities in the sector around the world in relation to the so-called “Green Production” or “Green Shooting”.
Málaga Film Office
Malaga Film Office, aware of and committed to the environment, has been implementing sustainable development practices that prevent and minimise the environmental impact of the audiovisual activities carried out in Malaga.
Promálaga participates in the European project Green Screen: Europe and, in collaboration with Málaga Film Office, has developed a sustainable filming guide, a carbon footprint calculator and a decalogue for developing ‘eco-friendly’ productions.
In this way, various tools are made available to production companies FREE OF CHARGE to try to prevent the possible negative impact of their work in the city, such as: a guide to sustainable filming, a carbon footprint calculator and a decalogue for developing ‘eco-friendly’ productions:

- 10 Promálaga Commandments for sustainable production. It is a simple decalogue with ten generic measures; however, to obtain more information, we also recommend their Guide for Sustainable Filming in Málaga.
- Eco-Friendly Suppliers: So that when choosing suppliers in Málaga, try -whenever possible- to opt for those that respect the environment.
- Adjusted report of the Environmental Advisory Center according to the needs of production. Prior to the start of production, the CAA will indicate the sustainable measures that must be implemented, knowing the details of the project to be carried out in our city.
- Sustainable Production Seal in Málaga: Proving that these measures have been put in place, the Malaga Film Office will grant the seal that will guarantee that what has been produced in Malaga has been carried out in a sustainable way.
They also offer other tools to offset the possible negative impact such as:
- Promálaga´s environmental footprint calculator and its User Manual.
- Clean Points: to leave the recyclable materials that are closest to your filming location.
It should be noted that we are also working with other institutions, including Catalonia Film Commission, in the development of a guide to launch the sustainable production label.
