Thanks to the installation of industrial debris sacks and two drainage plants, the Foundation is helping to prevent health risks. Companies and organisations are invited to join the initiative to respond to the emergency.
The emergency team of the Fundación Acción contra el Hambre [Action Against Hunger Foundation] has been working for several days to address the most urgent needs in the most affected Valencian municipalities.
As specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, they have carried out an initial diagnosis in collaboration with the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and local councils. As a result of this analysis, they are managing the installation of industrial debris sacks and two drainage plants, with the aim of speeding up the safe removal of the sludge and preventing possible health risks.
You can see the team in action and listen to their testimony here.
In the coming days, they will send more emergency equipment and install new bilge pumps. In addition, they will expand their intervention according to the needs they detect together with the town councils, also distributing basic necessities.
Numerous companies have already responded to their appeal, but the magnitude of the emergency requires an even greater joint effort. They are therefore calling on companies, foundations and associations to join this initiative.
