This is a new measure within the Plan to Boost the Spanish Audiovisual Sector, known as Spain Audiovisual Hub.
The Ministry of Culture has presented the beta version of the Spanish Online Film Platform (PLATFO), a digital initiative that seeks to improve the visibility and accessibility of Spanish audiovisual content. Presented at the Cine Doré by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, along with Ignasi Camós, Director General of the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), and Valeria Camporesi, Director of the Spanish Film Library, this platform is the result of collaboration between the ICAA and the Spanish Film Library, financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, as well as the ICAA’s own resources.
PLATFO is structured in several specialized modules:
- PLATFO FILMO: Offers the public access to historical collections of the Spanish Film Library and other collaborating film libraries.
- PLATFO PRO: Aimed at industry professionals, it functions as a private video library to promote unpublished titles of Spanish cinema and facilitate international networking.
- PLATFO SEARCH: An advanced search engine that provides information on where to legally watch Spanish series and films in cinemas, streaming platforms, and festivals worldwide.
- PLATFO PLAY: Offers content selected and curated by the PLATFO programming team for the general public.
This digital platform is presented as an unprecedented tool in Spain, designed to facilitate access to national audiovisual content and enhance interaction between professionals globally. During this beta phase, users can explore its functionalities and provide feedback for its improvement.
