Spain Audiovisual Hub: Mexico City hosts the first Mexico–Spain Audiovisual Forum to boost strategic alliances in the sector

More than 70 Mexican companies and 13 Spanish companies met to explore co-production, distribution, and talent circulation opportunities.

From June 15 to 17, Mexico City was the setting for the first Mexico–Spain Audiovisual Forum, a strategic platform aimed at strengthening ties between both industries. The event, organized by ICEX Spain Export and Investments, through Audiovisual from Spain, and the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Mexico, had the support of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE), the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), and the collaboration of the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico and FIASCO.

Over three days, 13 Spanish audiovisual companies held B2B meetings and networking sessions with more than 70 Mexican production companies, distributors, and platforms, in a program that also included round tables, market studies, and key presentations. Among the highlights of the forum were the inaugural conversation with Francisco Ramos (Netflix LATAM), the analysis of the Mexican film and television market carried out by FIASCO, and panels focused on incentives and exhibition channels for Spanish-language content.

Under the motto “Building creative bridges,” these sessions aimed to promote Hispano-Mexican co-productions with international reach, highlighting the joint potential of two audiovisual powers: Spain, as one of Europe’s most dynamic creative poles, and Mexico, consolidated as a key hub for production, distribution, and exhibition in Latin America.

With initiatives like this, Spain strengthens its presence in the Latin American market and reaffirms its role as Europe’s Audiovisual Hub, promoting new opportunities for growth and cross-border collaboration.
