Proof that advertisement films are more present in public administrations nowadays is the participation of the ICEX (Invest in Spain) with the APCP in the Cannes Lions Festival and collaboration of ALÍA.
Spain’s meeting point titled ‘Shooting in Spain’ was followed by the slogan ‘Spain, a country worth shootin’ in’, with the intention to highlight our country’s image as the perfect location to carry out filmings and audiovisual projects.
An event to bring together advertisers, agencies, production companies and service companies.
In contrast to the previous years, this year has an added novelty, conferences about different current affairs. ‘We are Craft’ with Olivia López (one of the festival’s juries and Executive Producer at Pickle Music) and César Cacchiano De La Concepción (SCOPEN’s president and Managing Director), about Spanish production and its quality, where suggestions were given to improve the score of the pieces presented to the jury.
The presentation of the Spain Hub Audiovisual, carried out by Eva Julia Hernández López (Promotion Coordinator at the ICEX) and Miriam Fernández Fernández (Director of Audiovisual Projects at ICEX’s Invest). During the presentation, they explained the strengths of the Spanish audiovisual industry and explained the Spain Audiovisual Bureau, a plan that, together with the Government, intends to attract investment and filming to Spain, as well as helping Spanish companies and producers to develop their projects outside of Spain.
A discussion about diversity in the industry was held in ‘We are Diversity’ with Tanu Anand (Founder and Representative of Talento Creativo, Mother & Dragons, Berlín, Co-Founder of Owned by Women), Ingrid Bragemann (Executive Producer and Founder of Tantor Films , Chile, Co-Founder of Owned by Women), Emma Daines (Manager at Owned by Women), Nitzan Hoffman (Music Supervisor at Treble Rebel, Berlín and previous Executive Jury of the Gerety Awards) and Lucía Ongay (Co-Founder at the Gerety Awards).
For the presentation called ‘We are ALÍA’, Óscar Pérez (managing director of the EPC) showed the guests several of Spain’s most important advertising films, valuing the Spanish advertising industry.
The series of conferences ended with the presentation titled ‘We are production and service’, led by Laura Serra Estorch (Producer at Canada and Gordon Mackinnon (director associate and EP at TwentyFour Seven). Both of them dived into the depths of the services, locations and talents that our country has to offer, putting several Dual Lipa music videos as an example).
This last year, just like the previous, we also participated in the World Producer Summit.
Like every year, each country intervened to talk about their situation, with how they had overcome COVID and what is the situation after the pandemic as the main topic, together with how to carry out more sustainable filming projects and how to solve issues related to national productions and service.
The ICEX talked about their contribution to facilitate entrance of foreigners into our country and how this is benefitting our service companies.
