- El Sol Advertiser of the Year
Pernod Ricard has won more than 20 awards at recent editions of El Sol. The Ibero-American Advertising Communication Festival, have endorsed the company to become the festival’s Advertiser of the Year. This award is given in recognition of the companies’ commitment to creativity, as evidenced by the relevance and the awards it has won through its agencies.
Specifically, Leo Burnett Spain’s “El tiempo que nos queda” campaign for the Ruavieja brand won the Platinum Sun in the 2019 edition, as well as two Grand Prizes (Branded Content and Public Relations), ten golds and five silvers. This campaign, which appeals to emotion and highlights the bonds with family and friends, was one of the most awarded in recent years.
Outside of El Sol, during 2019 “El tiempo que nos queda” won other important awards. It won gold in the Best Idea category at the Brave Brain Awards, the Grand Prix in Integrated Campaigns at El Ojo de Iberoamérica, and a gold lion (Creative Strategy), two silver lions (Social & Influencer and Creative Data) and a bronze lion (Direct) at Cannes Lions. In 2021, it also won a gold lion in the Creative Effectiveness category.
Other Spanish and Mexican agencies also won awards for different house brands in 2021. The Spanish agencies &Rosàs and CHINA, with their work for Seagram’s Gin, won a bronze in Integrated Campaigns for their work “¿Quién decide lo que vives?” and a bronze in Production with the campaign “El hotel”, respectively. For its part, Mexico’s anónimo was awarded two bronzes for its campaign “Soy porque somos – Raíces de la igualdad” for Absolut Mexico in the Design and Exterior categories.
The 36th edition of El Sol will be held on 2 June 2022 in Madrid, and for yet another year it will continue to vindicate creativity as a transforming force and business driver. All the activities will take place in person and the awards ceremony will be held at the Teatro Circo Price. The full programme can also be followed on elsolfestival.tv, the festival’s official content platform.
- AICP WEEK is almost here
AICP Week is just around the corner, it will be held from the 7th to the 9th of June, and we already know what’s on the programme, discover it here.
In addition, the AICP Awards have announced the shortlists for the 2022 editions of their three competitions: The AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the Commercial, the AICP Next Awards and the AICP Post Awards. For the full shortlists for each competition, click here.
We are very happy that our production company BLUR, is nominated in the directing category for its campaign “An Unlikely Friendship” by director Chris Balmond for Amazon Prime Video.
he shortlists are the result of a bifurcated judging system that began earlier this year with a series of panels of experts in various fields from around the world, nominated by their peers, who judged the work in their respective categories. The Curatorial Committees of the three shows are the final arbiters of the awards, confirming eligibility and category appropriateness, as well as selecting the Best in Show for each competition. In the case of the AICP Show, the Advertising Excellence/Campaign and Advertising Excellence awards are Best in Show; in the case of the AICP Next awards, it is the Next honour; and Best in Show for the AICP Post awards.
Leading these judging sessions were Mal Ward, partner/CEO of Arts & Sciences, and chair of the AICP Show; Scott Donaton, VP of marketing at Hulu, and chair of the AICP Next Awards judging panel; and Yvette Cobarrubias, co-founder and managing partner of Cosmo Street, and chair of the AICP Post Awards.
The winners of the three competitions will be honoured at in-person events during AICP Week, which begins on June 7th in New York and culminates with a presentation at the Museum of Modern Art on 9 June.
