Luna Esquerdo, EP of Bambina Films

Luna Esquerdo, has an extensive background in advertising film. Before joining Bambina, she worked in production companies such as Canada or Primo Content, managing outstanding campaigns for national and international clients. Today, we talk to her to tell us what’s behind all the success of Bambina and its projects.

What inspired the creation of Bambina in 2021 and what was your initial philosophy?

We have been friends with Javi since we finished university, our career paths have crossed at times and we always said “one day we’ll set up something together”. That day came two and a half years ago, and so far.

Within the advertising film industry and your production company, what changes have you experienced from the beginning to the present day?

Our production company is very young, we haven’t had time to experience too many changes in the sector, but individually we have been doing this for many years. When we started things were very different, there was no social media, all the commercials were made to be seen on TV and that changed the way we shot. Post-production was much more limited, there was less industry in our country, things were done at a different pace. Now everything happens very fast, before what you did was done little by little and the result lasted longer.

What criteria do you have when choosing your team of directors?

That they have talent, that they know how and like directing actors, that they are humble and that we understand each other well in our personal relationship. Bambina belongs to all of us who are part of it, it is essential for us to feel at ease with our directors and that it is reciprocal.

J&B:

What would you highlight about the projects for which you have been awarded as the best production company of the year?

The direction of actors and casting, which is essential in everything we do, without losing sight of the photography and art direction.

What advice would you give to people who are considering making their own way in the audiovisual industry today?

To be grateful and humble, to start from the bottom, it will help them understand the consequences of the decisions made by those at the top. That they work hard and observe, that they analyse what is going on around them when they are doing an internship in a production company or when they are working as a meritorious on a shoot.

What is the future of Bambina in the advertising film industry? Are there any projects you have in the pipeline?

We are working on several advertising projects that we would be very excited to get off the ground. We are also finishing the post-production of two campaigns that we have made with a lot of love, very different from what you usually see. We are also working on some fiction projects.
