A. Record number of women at the Goya Awards!

The 38th edition of the Goya Awards is just around the corner and brings great news. Thanks to the Association of Women Filmmakers (CIMA) we have learned that 61% of the people nominated to opt for a Goya this 2024, are women. Something unimaginable not many years ago.

“In previous years, the percentage was as follows: 37th edition: 40%; 36th edition: 38%;

35th edition 26%; 34th edition: 20.4%; 33rd edition: 26.8%.”

To know all the data here.

In addition, from APCP we are proud because some of our sponsors such as Deluxe or EPC, have worked in some of the nominated films. Congratulations!

B. ADC 103rd Annual Awards: an artificial awakening with very real rewards

For those more optimistic about what the future holds, the 103rd Annual ADC Awards are now in their second year with an Artificial Intelligence discipline!

As we approach the extended deadline next Friday, February 16, the search continues for projects large and small where you’ve dipped your toe into the wonderful and chaotic world of AI. From idea to process, application to execution, if you’ve incorporated AI into your work, the AI Jury from around the world (ironically made up of real-life, flesh-and-blood creative superstars) will want to see it. From packaging design and typography to advertising and branding/communication design, from architecture to publication design, and many other avenues to celebrate your skills. On top of that, our Illustration and Photography disciplines don’t allow AI-created submissions, so you won’t need to fight our robot overlords to win.

Whichever route you choose, be sure to submit your work by next Friday to avoid the fee increase that follows, before the final deadline on Friday, March 1.
