We began our tour of Cannes Lions landing at the Creative Lunch with Google and friends event. After several talks about e-commerce, the opportunities offered by new platforms and the ability of brands to adapt to the digital environment, we enjoyed a meal with our sponsor.
We visited together with ICEX and SCOPEN the Palais, a place where we were able to meet again and which has several spaces for networking both indoors and outdoors.
Tuesday was the big day of Shooting in Spain!
After the wait we finally met again at the Meeting Point of Spain at Cannes Lions, organized by APCP together with ICEX – Invest in Spain and ALÍA. This year’s slogan was “Spain, a country worth shootin’ in”, which aimed to highlight the image of our country as a perfect location for filming and audiovisual projects.
This way we were able to enjoy an afternoon in which we shared an interesting networking with Spanish ham thanks to the sponsorship of Cuchara de Palo and its ham cutter, Spanish Mahou beer and live music: while advertisers, agencies, production companies and service companies met again.
The program was made up of various talks, starting with “We are Craft” with Olivia López -festival juror and executive producer of Pickle Music- and César Vacchiano De La Concepción, president and CEO of SCOPEN. Both discussed the Spanish production and its quality, providing suggestions to improve the scoring of the pieces presented to the jury.
Later, a presentation of the Spain Audiovisual Hub was given by Eva Julia Hernández López, Promotions Coordinator at ICEX – INVEST IN SPAIN; and Miriam Fernández Fernández Fernández, Director of Audiovisual Projects at ICEX – INVEST IN SPAIN. During the event, they explained the strengths of the Spanish audiovisual sector and explained the Spain Audiovisual Bureau, a plan that together with the Government intends both to attract investment and filming to Spain, as well as to help Spanish companies and productions to develop their projects abroad.
In the debate created by “We are diversity” we had the pleasure to listen to Tanu Anand, Founder/Representative of Creative Talent, Mother & Dragons, Berlin, Founding Member Owned by Women, Ingrid Bragemann, Executive Producer and Founder Tantor Films , Chile, Founding Member Owned by Women, Emma Daines, Manager, Owned by Women, Nitzan Hoffman, Music Supervisor Treble Rebel Berlin and Former Executive Jury Gerety Awards and Lucía Ongay, Co-Founder, Gerety Awards.
In “We are ALÍA”, Óscar Pérez, General Director of EPC, presented to the guests several of the most important advertising recordings in our country, highlighting the value of the advertising film industry in Spain.
We closed the cycle of meetings with “We are production and service”, represented by Laura Serra Estorch -producer in Canada- and Gordon Mackinnon -partner director and EP at TwentyfourSeven-. They both went in depth on the service, locations and talent that our country can offer, giving as an example several Dua Lipa’s videoclips.
A tribute to Ukraine marked the end of the event, concluding with a performance by a renowned violinist.
Finally, we would like to thank our dear sponsors Aluzine, Antiestático, Canada, Cine Tools, Cuchara de Palo, Deluxe, EPC, Fight Films, Google, Tu Contacto Cine, Landia, Mahou, Primo, PSN, Smile, Spiral, TwentyFour Seven and Widescope; and three great collaborators: Creast, Gerety Awards and Scopen.
The following day, we had the pleasure of participating once again in the World Producer Summit.
As every year, each country took the floor to talk about the situation of each one, being the most important topics how each country has overcome the covid and how is the situation after the pandemic, how to face more sustainable shootings and different problems in national and service productions.
From Spain, Eva Julia Hernández López, Promotions Coordinator of ICEX – INVEST IN SPAIN ICEX and Chalo Bonifacino from LEE Films participated.
Desde ICEX – Invest in Spain contaron cual está siendo su aportación en la entrada de extranjeros a nuestros país y cómo esto está beneficiando a nuestras compañías de service.
From ICEX – Invest in Spain, they explained their contribution to the entry of foreigners to our country and how this is benefiting our service companies.
That same day, also keeping the summer spirit, APCP was able to enjoy the Canada swimming pool.
The final day was dedicated to diversity at Google Pride, in honor of Pride Month and the LGTBI Q+ community, which is being celebrated this July, where the new All In inclusive marketing tool was also presented, with new ideas for marketers, advertisers and creatives to put together “work that makes sense for people with disabilities and that, in one way or another, faithfully represents this community.”
