La Palma, 10 July 2023. La Palma became the venue for the third edition of the FCPC Canary Islands Advertising Film Forum, organised by the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster and PROEXCA, which aims to bring national advertising film production companies and advertising agencies closer to the possibilities offered by the territory of the Canary Islands and the production companies of the audiovisual industry of the islands.
This year, high-level national and international companies such as Only925, GarlicTV, GrayskullTV, Lobo Kane, Mirinda Films, Seven Senses, Vagabond Films and the likes of Antiéstatico, creators of ‘Donde quiero estar’, the video clip by the artist Quevedo, took part in the event.
This meeting was supported by the La Palma Film Commission and the APCP (Asociación de Productoras de Cine Publicitario).
And the special participation of the creative agency DDB, invited by the Association of Advertising Film Producers.
For three days, the participating production companies were able to connect with service companies and regional content producers, as well as enjoy a scouting session to discover natural spaces and locations on La Palma, which can serve as settings for the development of new audiovisual projects.
The participating companies visited, with the help of the La Palma Film Commission, special places such as the Tajogaite Volcano Viewpoint, the Los Tilos Waterfall, the Roque de los Muchachos, the La Cumbrecita Viewpoint in the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, a view from the sea of the Porís de Candelaria, the Cueva Bonita or the new lava delta of the Tajogaite Volcano lava flows.

Some advertising projects shot on La Palma, known as the ‘Isla Bonita’, were filmed for Jaguar, Audi, Volkswagen, Adidas, Chloé, Vogue, Zara, WOMAN magazine, Meliá and OMIO. The island has also been the setting for feature films, series and TV programmes such as The Witcher (Netflix), Midnight Sky (Netflix), Mi Otro Jon (Mi Abuela y Jon, S.L. ), HIT (RTVE), 8 años (American Road Films), Las Consecuencias (Sin Rodeos Films/TVE), La Palma (Drei Films/Enróllate Films), Exploration Volcano BBC Earth (Back2back Productions Ltd), Earthstorm (Warner Bros), Planeta Calleja en La Palma (Zanskar) and the Late Motiv programme (El Terrat).
As a result of this action in La Palma, budgets and specific locations have been requested for participation in international competitions for car brands that are looking for unusual roads in the natural landscapes of the Isla Bonita.
The meeting also saw the conclusion of an agreement between the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster and the National Association of Advertising Films. In this regard, both Adriana Piquet, director general of the APCP, and Genoveva Ayala, manager of the Cluster, agreed on the importance of the editions of the Canary Islands Advertising Film Forum, for the connection between national companies and production companies in the Canary Islands, “to continue discovering the rich landscape of our environment”. The agreement, which will be signed in the next few days, will reinforce the work to achieve common objectives related, among others, to the sector’s relations with the Public Administration, specific training in the audiovisual sector and internationalisation.
