The audiovisual complex recovers the city’s leading role as a reference set for audiovisual productions.
In 2024 alone, the Alicante complex hosted 14 productions between film, television, and advertising, generating an economic impact of more than 60 million euros for the region, very positive data that represents a significant increase compared to previous years.
Officially reopened in 2022 after the lifting of restrictions imposed by the European Commission, Ciudad de la Luz has not only been an engine of local economic activity but also a catalyst for attracting international filming. With its six soundproof stages, outdoor filming spaces, and direct access to the sea, the complex offers an infrastructure difficult to match in southern Europe.
Beyond cinema, its use in advertising is rapidly consolidating. National and foreign production companies value the flexibility of the space, the privileged climate, and the proximity to highly qualified professionals. In addition, new measures are being developed to facilitate sustainable filming, aligning with the increasingly demanding standards of the sector.
In short, Ciudad de la Luz is positioned as a key piece in strengthening the Spanish audiovisual ecosystem; and with the demand for content booming, everything indicates that its light will not go out for a long time.
