Once upon a time there were three little pigs who lived in the open air near a forest… Surely with these words you have identified the story we are referring to. The three brothers had built their houses with different materials so that the wolf would not eat them. In the end, only one of them managed to survive. Deluxe is doing the post-production of the spot for the XI Jornadas de Cine Publicitario. A complex job in which, among other activities, they have produced a magnificent 3D piece.
- How has it been to be part of the spot of the XI Jornadas de Cine Publicitario?
It was a pleasure to collaborate in a project that aims to highlight the privilege of belonging to a sector where creativity is at the centre and proof of this is this piece!
- What was the most complicated part of the job?
It wasn’t complicated. It has been laborious. Working with a very professional team (agency and production company) avoids any gratuitous disagreements. Complications really arise when neither the idea nor the execution are clear from the start. And that wasn’t the case.
- What qualities do you think a person should have to work in the world of post-production?
It depends fundamentally on the position within “post-production”. But in terms of the phase we call Creative, above all, understanding that we are at the end of a process that takes a long way beforehand, but which is no less important, in fact we often claim to be there from the beginning even if we don’t have to work all the way through to the end. We have to understand an idea or a script, because we are the final phase of a creative process. Illusion, complicity, a lot of patience and, of course, in artists’ positions, talent.
- You are not only part of advertising projects, you are also having great success at national and international level thanks to films and series. Any news you would like to share with us in this regard?
We are about to release “La Sociedad de la Nieve” by J.Bayona and “La Mesías” the new series by the Javis, in which we participate in the areas of colour and sound mixing among others.
- Do you think preparation is the key to success?
There is no single key to success. And on the other hand, if it is achieved, it is shared. Ours is a work between teams, both internally and with the rest of the actors in a project. Of course it is not an improvised work so preparation is surely an important part of a good result.
- With the new trends that are emerging every day, what is your key to not being left behind?
The clients themselves push us not to be left behind. Producers, directors, DOP’s, post supervisors… it’s an industry that is constantly updating.
All stories have a moral and this one is no different… The tale of the three little pigs is another example of how preparation is the key to success. It is no coincidence that this animal has been chosen as the protagonist of the XI Jornadas de Cine Publicitario. On top of that, ours has wings…
