The AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the Commercial, is more than an awards show judging the best work of the year. It is an archival project with cultural and artistic significance that has been celebrating the art of advertising for more than three decades. And of course, this year it is also time to celebrate and during the 27th, 28th and 29th of July, it will take place AICP WEEK 2021.
AICP has managed to create a creative community facing challenges like they have never encountered before, which is why this year they have decided to honour those who managed to overcome those challenges to create and produce great work against all odds.
To recognise the incredible challenges that society faces due to the pandemic, AICP has created a special award category for each programme called: Against All Odds.
Thus inviting all participants to add a short narrative describing the unique obstacles faced by their projects that might not otherwise be known. Either what it took to get it off the ground or what it took to actually do it.
The AICP Awards are a series of awards for commercial storytellers, voted on by professionals in the same sector. The Association of Independent Commercial Producers honours them in three different award programmes. This trilogy includes:
- AICP Show Awards: honours the art of commercials
- AICP Next Awards: honours the best innovative marketing campaigns.
- AICP Post Awards: honours the best post-production work.
The AICP Awards are more than just recognition of the advertising industry’s achievements. Each year, the winning entries from The AICP Show and The AICP Next are displayed in the archives of The Museum of Modern Art’s Film Department for future generations to study and are available for exhibition by museum staff.
