The Institute presents a line of subsidies aimed at supporting the production of feature films that, due to their characteristics, stand out for their cinematographic, cultural, or social value, or that incorporate new filmmakers or experimental formats.
These aids, managed by the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), also promote animation works and provide support for international co-productions with minority Spanish participation.
The 2026 call has an initial economic allocation of €20,000,000 intended to subsidize projects in the production phase. Each project can receive up to €800,000 in general categories and up to €1,000,000 if it is an animation project. In the case of international co-productions with minority Spanish participation, the maximum support amounts to €300,000 per project.
Independent production companies or groups of companies formed for the application may apply for these aids. The deadline for submitting applications is open until March 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (Peninsular Spain time).
This line is part of the policies to support the audiovisual industry promoted by the ICAA and also financed with European funds linked to the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
If you are working on a feature film project and looking for financing for its production, this call can be a relevant opportunity to boost your production with public support.
