The latest feature by Karim Aïnouz, co-produced by our associate Sur Film, will compete for the Golden Bear at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival.
Cinema is, by definition, a collaborative art that knows no borders. We are thrilled to share that ‘Rosebush Pruning’, directed by the award-winning Karim Aïnouz, has been selected for the Official Competition at the 76th Berlinale. Most significantly for our community, this ambitious project bears the mark of our associate production company Sur Film, with Andreas Wentz and Juan Cano leading the Spanish co-production.
Filmed entirely in Spain under the Catalonian sun, this contemporary satire on patriarchy and generational lies stands out not only for its bold narrative but also for its extraordinary display of talent. The film features a stellar cast including Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Elena Anaya, Elle Fanning, and Pamela Anderson, alongside the vision of Academy Award-nominated costume designer Bina Daigeler.
To have a production with Spanish DNA and the drive of Sur Film contending for the highest honor in Berlin is a testament to the excellence and global reach of our industry. The world premiere will take place on February 14th. We will be closely following this journey toward the Golden Bear!
