The film, directed by Katya & Bastian Kuhn, shows that production can also be resistance.

Mamma Team kicks off the year with the premiere of a very special project that goes far beyond advertising. Civil Warriors is a feature-length documentary produced and directed by Tundra Films (Katya & Bastian Kuhn) and co-produced by Mamma Team.

The film focuses on a silenced reality: civil resistance in Myanmar following the 2021 military coup. A committed work that demonstrates that audiovisual production can also be a tool for memory, denouncement, and reflection.

The film explores the Burmese people’s struggle for democracy after the army, led by General Min Aung Hlaing, put an end to five brief years of democratic progress. Through intimate and personal stories, Civil Warriors gives a voice to citizens of different ethnic and social backgrounds who united against the military regime, risking their lives to defend fundamental rights. The documentary not only portrays their resistance but also issues a universal warning about the fragility of civil liberties and the danger of authoritarianism in societies weary of democracy.

Now available on YouTube, Civil Warriors is a clear example of how APCP-associated production companies also promote projects with social and political impact, reminding us that creativity and audiovisual production can—and must—participate in the great conversations of our time.
