Two Valencian voices, Arturo Valls and Marta Belenguer, come together for a discussion about the constant metamorphosis of talent in the industry, moderated by Marta Martínez.
Being and seeming. Creating and transforming. In the world of audiovisual media, the boundary between character and person, between the camera and life, is becoming increasingly blurred. Under the title “Mocatriz in Audiovisual Media: A Chat About Versatility in the Industry,” this panel—which will take place as part of the 13th APCP Conference—offers a profound and insightful reflection on the role of the artist and the creator in a constantly evolving ecosystem.
The session will be moderated by Marta Martínez, executive producer at Landia, with over twenty years of experience driving audiovisual projects both in Spain and internationally. Her career began at agencies such as Tiempo BBDO and Sra. Rushmore, from where she moved into production at Blur and Lee Films. Marta embodies that essential figure who combines strategic thinking with creative intuition; a professional who believes in powerful ideas and talent as the engine of transformation. With her keen eye and deep understanding of the creative process, she will be the perfect guide for a conversation that will explore how careers that transcend labels are built today.
Joining her in the discussion will be two leading figures from Valencia who symbolize the constant metamorphosis of the contemporary artist: Arturo Valls and Marta Belenguer.
Arturo Valls, actor, presenter, and producer, is one of the most beloved and versatile figures in Spanish audiovisual media. He has masterfully combined humor, entrepreneurship, and creativity both in front of and behind the camera. Through his production company, Pólvora Films, he develops original projects for television and streaming platforms, and isn’t afraid to explore new avenues of expression, such as his brand of rice with the Valencia Protected Designation of Origin, “Socarrón,” which plays with irony, identity, and a sense of connection. Valls embodies the figure of the contemporary creator: chameleon-like, entrepreneurial, and deeply connected to his roots.
Meanwhile, Marta Belenguer, also from Valencia, has built a career that moves seamlessly between theater, television, and film. From shows like “Aquí no hay quien viva” and “Camera Café” to “Señoras del (H)ampa” and “Todo lo otro” on HBO, Belenguer has demonstrated that versatility can be a form of artistic coherence. Her work in the Oscar-nominated short film 7:35 in the Morning and in films like Álex Montoya’s The House showcases an actress deeply committed to her craft and to emotion as a universal language.
Together, Valls and Belenguer embody a shared root and two distinct paths: those who have expanded their horizons without forgetting their origins. The conversation, promising humor, reflection, and camaraderie, will explore how today’s artists and producers learn to navigate between different worlds—from entertainment to advertising, from theater to streaming platforms—without losing their own unique voice.
Because, ultimately, being a “mocatriz” (a term used to describe a female artist or producer) is much more than a pop culture concept: it’s a reflection of an industry that constantly reinvents itself. And this panel, with three Valencians who understand that creating is also about transformation, will remind us that true identity lies in change.
