Somos5 competes at MAD STARS 2025 in Korea, vying for Producer of the Year; and Mamma Team triumphs with two of its recent short films.

SOMOS5

The MAD STARS 2025 festival, Asia’s largest gathering around marketing, advertising, and digital content, is celebrating a new edition this August in Busan under the motto “AI-vertising, AI Advertising Marketing Era.” During three intense days at SIGNIEL Busan and the Haeundae area, professionals from all over the world will share experiences, trends, and success stories on how artificial intelligence is transforming the creative industry, exploring both its challenges and future opportunities.

In this context, the production company Somos5 participates with great enthusiasm and high expectations, presenting outstanding projects alongside Cheil and Samsung, including The Mind Guardian and Impulse, both framed within the ‘Technology with Purpose’ category. Beyond the specific awards, the event could become a historic moment for the production company: at the close of the gala —tomorrow at 5:00 PM Korean time— the recognition for Producer of the Year will be announced.

From APCP, we wish the best of luck to our friends at Somos5!

MAMMA TEAM

The Mamma Team family continues to add joy in the film arena. This time, with two productions that reflect the production company’s commitment to emerging talent and quality audiovisual creation.

On one hand, the short film SER UN HOMBRE (TO BE A MAN), directed by Lucas Parra and produced by Sumendi in co-production with Mamma Team, Kabak Films, and Roma, has just received the Award for Best National Short Film at the prestigious Almagro International Film Festival. A benchmark event that is also a Collaborating Festival with the Goya Awards, further reinforcing the impact of this recognition. The piece, distributed by Selected Films and financed by the ICAA, has been celebrated for both its narrative strength and the sensitivity of its its gaze.

On the other hand, the short film I WALKED THROUGH A WALL, written and directed by Pablo Larcuen and produced by Heaven in co-production with Mamma Team and Roma, has been selected for the official competition of FICVI (Vila-seca International Short Film Festival). This festival, a qualifier for the Film Academy, has consolidated itself as a key platform to give visibility to projects with international projection. The work, also distributed by Selected Films, thus joins the list of titles with which Mamma Team continues to demonstrate its ability to accompany singular and powerful stories.

With these two milestones, Mamma Team reaffirms its commitment to independent cinema, supporting both young directors and projects with the vocation to leave their mark on the industry.
