A study promoted by Madrid Film Office analyzes the economic dimension of audiovisual production between 2021 and 2024.
Madrid is not only one of the great settings for cinema and series in Spain; it is also an economic engine that generates employment, activates services, and projects culture. To precisely understand the extent of this influence, Madrid Film Office, in collaboration with the Lawrence R. Klein Institute of Economic Forecasting at the Autonomous University of Madrid, has launched a new study that will analyze the dimension and impact of film shoots in the city between 2021 and 2024.
The initiative aims to rigorously quantify how audiovisual productions contribute to Madrid’s economy, as well as to support the design of public policies that strengthen the sector. What role does audiovisual production play in boosting other sectors? What economic return does each film shoot generate in the city? These are some of the questions the report aims to answer.
From APCP, we encourage all producers who have filmed in Madrid between 2021 and 2024 to participate in this initiative. Your collaboration is key: simply complete a brief anonymous and confidential survey that will allow us to collect real data on investment, employment, and generated activity.
The study will be a strategic tool to strengthen Madrid’s position as one of Europe’s most important production hubs, enabling institutions, companies, and professionals in the sector to make informed decisions based on solid data. Furthermore, it represents an important step towards the structural recognition of the value that cinema and advertising bring to the urban and economic environment of the capital.
