She bets on consolidating Spain as an international filming powerhouse with the boost of the Spain Audiovisual Hub, she affirms in an interview for Madrid Film Office.
María Coronado, recently appointed Director of Audiovisual of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), highlights the implementation of the new phase of the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan as a “great opportunity” to strengthen the Spanish audiovisual industry. With a budget of 1,712 million euros, this plan seeks to boost the growth of the sector through financing and investment, with an execution period until August 31, 2026.
In an interview conducted by Madrid Film Office, Coronado emphasizes the importance of consolidating Spain’s position as a leader in the production and export of audiovisual content. SETT, created in July 2024, is presented as an entity specialized in channeling funds with an industrial vision, focused on the analysis of investment operations for the entire audiovisual ecosystem.
Coronado emphasizes the need to attract private investment and promote the internationalization of the sector, noting that cultural industries contribute 2.4% to the national GDP, a figure comparable to that of agriculture. The Director of Audiovisual of SETT is confident that this initiative will contribute to the technological transformation and increased competitiveness of the content production industry in Spain.
