It is a comedy directed by Carlos Padial and starring Judit Martín and Berto Romero.
El Cansancio, Bambina, Scorpora and Pioneros-Media Offline are pleased to present the first images of PIZZA MOVIES, the new comedy by Carlo Padial (Dr. Portuondo, Algo muy gordo), based on an original screenplay by Desirée de Fez, Carlos de Diego and Carlo Padial.
In this indie comedy, which draws on the North American comedy of the 70s-80s, Padial unites the wit and connection of Martín and Romero, with the participation of actors and actresses such as Raúl Arévalo, Joaquín Reyes, Bruna Cusí, Melina Matthews, Javier Botet, Tamar Novas, Belén Barenys, Miguel Noguera and Llimoo in a tender and funny comedy about the importance of pursuing dreams.
Pizza Movies narrates the vicissitudes of a couple who, in the midst of a professional crisis, decide to leave everything and start a new business. But not just any business…
In the words of its creative team, “Pizza Movies is a crazy and very human comedy about the importance of pursuing dreams and realizing oneself as a person, even when those dreams seem absurd and impossible.” For her part, de Fez emphasizes that “the film starts from the desire to make a positive, happy, cheerful comedy. A film that serves as a vehicle for great comedy actors such as Berto Romero and Judit Martín, in the line of the wonderful comedies of Mel Brooks, Hal Ashby or Albert Brooks of the late 60s, 70s and even 80s, when American comedy breathed an air of countercultural freedom.” For his part, Carlos de Diego adds: “Pizza Movies echoes the disenchantment of a generation that has chained several economic crises and suffers the consequences of personal dissatisfaction. Pizza Movies works as an allegory of a very abrasive present where the human being and their dreams matter less and less, where there is no place to dream and, therefore, there is no place for cinema.”
