Pioneer in sustainability with the first fleet of electric vehicles for cinema and advertising lighting.

The company sets a new standard in audiovisual service, leading the drive for more sustainable and responsible practices. It has also long offered Kinogreen eco generators, one of the preferred energy solutions for sustainable shoots.

Kinolux, the market leader in professional lighting for film and advertising, has taken a decisive step towards sustainability by becoming the first in the industry in Spain to operate a fleet of four fully electric vehicles. This fleet includes three Volvo trucks and a Mercedes cargo van, designed to minimize the environmental impact on shoots.

Electric vehicles are especially valued by ecomanagers, an increasingly influential figure in audiovisual production who, among other things, prioritize the reduction of the carbon footprint. Unlike diesel trucks, electric trucks do not emit exhaust fumes, making a significant contribution to reducing air pollution. According to Volvo data, while diesel trucks emit 285 g CO2eq/ton-km, electric trucks only generate 54 g CO2eq/ton-km, achieving a 431% reduction in CO2 emissions.

Moreover, although the manufacture of these electric vehicles may have a slightly higher environmental impact, their intensive use quickly offsets this imbalance. In fact, it is estimated that the climate break-even point of an electric truck can be reached in less than a year, if electricity from renewable sources or nuclear power is used.

“Implementing these vehicles in our fleet not only reflects Kinolux’s commitment to sustainability, but also represents our response to the growing demand for green solutions in the film and advertising industry”, says Tito Arcas, Corporate Development at Parasol Media. “We are proud to lead this transition to a greener future and to offer our customers the peace of mind of knowing they are working with a company that is committed to protecting the environment.”

Sustainable vehicles and generators

This is not Kinolux’s first initiative to drive sustainability in the industry. It has long offered its customers Kinogreen sustainable generators through Energy Services, Kinolux’s sister company within the Parasol Media Group. These eco-friendly generators have been a preferred solution on numerous shoots looking to minimize their environmental impact.

With these additions to its fleet, Kinolux not only reinforces its leadership in technological innovation, but also sets a new standard in the audiovisual service industry, leading the drive for more sustainable and responsible practices.
