A. 20 – 29 june ¡Cinema Jove 2024 has already started!
The 39th edition of Cinema Jove has started! The Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove is a festival that takes place annually in Valencia in June. It is accredited by the FIAPF in the category of “Specialized Competitive Festivals”.
The festival is a meeting forum for young international filmmakers, and its vocation is to showcase the best international cinema directed by young people.
Cinema Jove is organized by the Conselleria de Cultura i Deporte, through the Institut Valencià de Cultura. Cinema Jove has five official or competition sections, all of which have their respective juries:
- Feature Films
- Short films
- Series
- Youth Audiovisual Encounter
- Òrbites
NON-COMPETITIVE SECTIONS:
Cinema Jove also screens a series of non-competitive sections whose theme, always around youth, usually changes with the editions, although several of them are maintained over the years: Luna de Valencia Award, High School, El Joven, La Joven… or Los Dioses del Anime.

C. 3 september Gerety Awards 2024 announces global shortlist
The Gerety Awards has now released its global shortlist along with the Agency and Production Company of the Year awards by country.
The shortlisted campaigns from Spain are Fashion Cramps for Buscopan. Sanofi by MRM Spain in Communication, Craft and Pharma CUTS; Oye, Maricarmen! for La Vida en Rosa Magazine by VML Health Madrid in Health CUT; Find Your Summer for Magnum by LOLA-MULLENLOWE in Craft CUT (Photography and Direction) and LIVE INSURANCE by MAPFRE by McCann Erickson Madrid in Entertainment CUT, campaign produced by one of our production partners: Congratulations Harry!
The executive jury sessions took place around the world and this week you can see the Gerety Jury Insights panels from UK, USA, Poland, Canada, France, AUNZ, East Asia, LATAM, Spain, Netherlands, Middle East and Belgium.
394 pieces from 35 different countries make up the shortlist:
- Most shortlisted category: across different media types is Work for Good Cut with 93 pieces on shortlist and Craft with 86.
- Most shortlisted campaigns: across multiple categories Rights against the Right – The first trademark that stops trading Nazi merch for Laut gegen Nazis from Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg; Anti-Choice Ads for Wisp x Abortion Freedom Fund from 72andSunny Los Angeles; The Square Meter for HORNBACH from HeimatTBWA Germany Berlin and A Holiday To Remember for Chevrolet from Commonwealth//McCann Detroit.
- Most shortlisted agency: Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg.
- Most shortlisted network: VML with pieces from 12 different countries.
- Most Shortlisted Holding Company: Omnicom, followed by IPG and WPP
Now it is the Grand jury’s turn to choose the winners, which will be announced on Tuesday, September 3 and include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Grand Prix, along with Network and Agency of the year (global). The winners of Agency and Production Company of the year by country are:

D. 5 september The Immortal Awards presents this year’s jury!
The Immortal Awards have announced the names of the international advertising leaders who will serve on the 2024 global jury. The jury will convene in New York on December 5 for Global Jury Day, which this year will be supported by JSM Music. The jury will decide which projects, if any, will receive an Immortal Award or receive a Commendation in this year’s competition.
The group includes world-renowned creatives and leaders from across the brand, agency, production and publishing worlds. The Immortal Awards 2024 global jury has been announced as follows:
- Chris Beresford-Hill, global creative director, BBDO.
- Bruno Bertelli, global chief executive officer of LePub, chief creative officer of Publicis Worldwide
- Susan Credle, global president, FCB, creative consultant, IPG
- Tara Ford, creative director, Accenture Song APAC and LATAM, creative director, The Monkeys
- Sergio Lopez, chief executive officer, Omnicom Production
- Tiffany Rolfe, global president, R/GA, global creative director, R/GA
- Joel Simon, Creative Director and Founder, JSM Music

More additions to the global jury are likely to be made in the coming months. Regional and local juries will also be announced in the coming weeks.

The Immortal Awards entry system is now open and entries will be accepted until September 5, 2024. All entries must be made for a commissioned client and must have been first broadcast, exhibited, released or published between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024.2024.Each LBB member is entitled to up to five entries.
