b. ¡Call for AICP Awards 2024!
The call for entries is now open for the 2024 AICP Awards in New York, which will encompass the AICP Show: The Art and Technique of the Commercial, the AICP Next Awards and the AICP Post Awards. The AICP Awards honor marketing communications in moving images.

c. Registration open: Juan Mariano Mancebo award to the young talent of the c de c
For the seventh consecutive year, the Club de Creativos awards the Juan Mariano Mancebo prize for young talent. Through this award, tribute is paid to the memory of Juan Mariano Mancebo, the first president in c de c and, possibly, the creative director who identified more outstanding young people in this country.
The Juan Mariano Mancebo Award has the collaboration of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya which, in order to contribute to the training of creatives, offers the winner(s) of the award the possibility of studying.
This recognition is granted by a committee composed of all the presidents who have been part of the c de c since its inception; Toni Segarra, José Luis Esteo, Miguel García Vizcaíno, Rafa Antón, Antonio Montero, Ezequiel Triviño, Carlos Holemans, Guille Viglione, Uschi Henkes, Judith Francisco, Mónica Moro and Gonzalo Figari. This edition of the Juan Mariano Mancebo Award has counted with the collaboration of Monroe Pizza in the design of the campaign and the support of c de c partners Arena Media and Medialabs.
The name of the winner will be announced during the National Creativity Awards 2024 Gala on April 13 at the Kursaal in Donostia-San Sebastián. Registration will be open from January 29th to March 5th. Click here to see the terms and conditions and to register.
d. The Platinum Awards preselected the documentary “Juan Mariné. A century of cinema” (María Luisa Pujol, 2023)
The Ibero-American Audiovisual PLATINUM Awards announced on January 24 at Casa América (Madrid, Spain) the productions shortlisted for its 11th edition by the Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA) in collaboration with producers’ associations and Ibero-American Film Academies.
Four Spanish documentary films were shortlisted “Juan Mariné. Un siglo de cine” (María Luisa Pujol, 2023), “Contigo, contigo y sin mí” (Amaya Villar Navascués, 2023), and “La memoria del cine, a film about Fernando Méndez-Leite as well as three documentary films in co-production, one between Spain and Belgium “Iberia, naturaleza infinita” (Arturo Menor Campillo, 2023); another one between Argentina, France and Spain “El castillo” (Martín Benchimol, 2023) and a third one between Spain and Cuba “Patria y vida” (Beatriz Luengo, 2023). These films will compete with 44 other films from 21 Ibero-American countries.
The growth and gradual recovery of the film industry has been evidenced by the surpassing of the 994 works released in 2022 (834 films and 160 series), by the total of 1121 productions in 2023, of which 573 were fiction feature films, 388 documentaries, 18 animated films and 142 series.
From the shortlist, the four finalists in each of the 23 categories of the PLATINO Awards will be announced on February 22.Finally, the winners will be announced on April 20 at the awards gala to be held at the Gran Tlachco Theater of the Xcaret Park in Riviera Maya, in the state of Quintana Roo (Mexico), a destination that will alternate with the Spanish capital until 2027 after three consecutive years of celebration in Madrid.
The documentary “Juan Mariné.Un siglo de cine” is currently nominated for the CEC Medals (Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos) and has been selected for the Santo Domingo Global Festival to be held from January 26 to February 2.
