The Málaga Festival continues to publish news about what will be its 26th edition. Check them out!
The programme for the event, which will take place from 10 to 19 March, will be released at the end of February. However, the organisers have announced that in recognition of the career of director Alberto Rodríguez, his work will be recognised with the Retrospective Award. The filmmaker, who has already won great recognition with La isla mínima, has accumulated 16 nominations for the 2023 Goya Awards with Modelo 77.
From the organisation, reflected on this: “His latest film, Modelo 77, is a story of friendship, solidarity and freedom, inspired by real events and written with Rafael Cobos (who has worked with him on all his films since 7 virgins); in which he once again shows the recent history of Spain, now in the midst of the Transition, in the transition to democracy, telling the story of two convicts in search of their freedom”.
In addition to this award, it should also be noted that the city of Malaga, and specifically the Málaga Film Office, “attended to 576 proyectos audiovisuales” in 2022. Figures that translated into an investment of more than 14 million euros.
This is undoubtedly great news for the industry, which continues to grow through creativity and new projects.
On the other hand, we would like to highlight our APCP Advertising Film Production Activities at the Málaga Film Festival. For this 5th edition, we have changed the venue to the Echegaray Theatre, so be sure to sign up! During the next weeks we will publish news.
