Although initiatives to improve sustainability in film and advertising shoots had already begun in other countries, thanks to Eva Dvoraková Pérez’s contribution, the Czech Republic has taken the lead in the race to reduce the carbon footprint of film shoots as much as possible.
Concern for the environment has always been a part of her life, but it was not until she started working for the Audiovisual Producers Association (APA) that she saw the opportunity to implement it in her professional environment. His position as manager of the commercial department made him realise the interest in the sector and of course the need to carry out actions in favour of the environment.
For this reason, Greenfilming.cz was created, a platform focused entirely on informing all those who want to know what areas can be implemented in filming to improve sustainability in the Czech Republic, as well as the necessary tools.
Due to the interest shown by many of the producers with whom APA worked, Eva decided to create her own consulting company also focused on green filming. Another of the main reasons for the creation of BGreen was the need to go deeper into each case, because as many of us know, there are many actions you can take to improve the sustainability of a filming. But there are also other actions that are specific to a particular situation, so the smartest thing to do is to study each case and work as BGreen does.
Eva has had the opportunity to present her project at the assembly of the European association that took place in Madrid. We are delighted that we have strong women who are looking for solutions and creating projects in our sector.
Thanks to the popularity of the Czech Republic in the audiovisual world, all these practices can be adapted and transferred to the countries that send teams to film there, because in the end the goal of improving our habits and reducing consumption belongs to everyone.
