Madrid celebrated San Isidro with the awarding of the city’s medals, and our director Adriana Piquet attended the event.
The ceremony took place in the Palacio de Cristal de Cibeles, a ceremony in which Ukraine was the protagonist and received the medal of honour, which was collected by the Ukrainian ambassador to Spain, to whom Almeida dedicated a few words: “we are all Ukrainians because we all love freedom and democracy”.
The journalist Raúl del Pozo, the basketball player Felipe Reyes, the photographer and artist Ouka Leele, the Argentinian musician Andrés Calamaro, the Carabanchel neighbourhood activist Lourdes Hernández Ossorio (posthumously), the chef Pepa Muñoz, the Spanish women’s rugby team, CERMI, the current president of the Loewe Foundation, Enrique Loewe Lynch, the Mahou-San Miguel company, the NGO CESAL and the founder of the Ahorra Más Group, Jesús Medina, have been awarded the Madrid Medal.
