The IV Festival of Cinema for Women, Madrid, will once again bring to the public a careful selection of recent national and international films directed by women, with the aim of contributing to their visibility. This year the contest will take place between October 27 and November 7, 2021 at various venues and will once again have a mixed format: face-to-face and online.

With 23,656 in-person and online spectators and 639 impacts in the media, in the last edition, this cinematographic event has become essential, consolidating its position within the national scene of festivals.

Over the last 3 years the festival has grown in quality, number of films and venues.

This IV edition expands its cinematographic offer by dedicating special attention to the most innovative Chinese cinema directed by women, with a selection of 6 films that can be seen in the Cinema Academy’s cinema hall and in Cineteca Madrid and that will make up the Focus China section , programmed in collaboration with the China Women Film Festival, which joins the project for the first time.

This festival, which began in 2013, provides female filmmakers and young screenwriters with a platform that encourages the creation of original content and the development of projects.

CWFF (China Women Film Festival) strives to support women by sharing their work with the public, promoting equal opportunities, fostering professional development, and serving as a resource and information network for women.

The transmission of knowledge is one of the fundamental values of this festival, for which conferences, round tables, meetings and colloquia will be organized in different venues.

The IV edition of Cine por Mujeres builds on the success achieved in previous editions, whose figures support the project; and once again has the invaluable support of sponsoring companies such as Rampa, a platform to which the APCP belongs, as well as numerous public and private collaborating entities, which renew their commitment to cinema and equality.
