Madrid Film Office organised last Wednesday 23rd November its II Afterwork ‘Cortamos para…’ with the goal of promoting the meeting and impulse the audiovisual industry in Madrid.

Created as a meeting place for Madrid’s audiovisual industry and other companies and institutions linked to audiovisual activity in the city, the Afterwork ‘Cortamos para…’ aims to foster networking and synergies between the sector, promote contact and the establishment of collaboration agreements with the Madrid Film Office, promote the city as a centre for audiovisual production, establish a meeting point for creators and producers, promote the measures and activities in support of audiovisuals developed by the Madrid City Council and publicise spaces that could be used as filming locations.

In its second edition, the meeting was attended by more than 300 industry professionals, managers of venues and services, and representatives of institutions, gathered at the Eslava Theatre.

According to the director of the Madrid Film Office, Raúl Torquemada, the City Council’s aim is to “establish points of support throughout the entire chain of an audiovisual project with the objective of promoting the development of creativity and the Madrid audiovisual industry”.

In his speech, Héctor Coronel, Director of Tourism at Madrid City Council, underlined the firm commitment of the City Council and the Delegate Tourism Department to the Madrid audiovisual sector, stressing the importance of public-private collaboration and the generation of meeting spaces for the audiovisual industry.  She pointed out that “Madrid is at an effervescent moment” at all levels, being “the city with the best lifestyle in the world” and an epicentre of activity that generates “security and confidence to be also the best city to invest in”.
